(BEIJING, August 11) -- World No. 8 Badminton pair Maeda Miyuki and Suetsuna Satoko of Japan stunned audiences by beating World No. 1 pair Yang Wei and Zhang Jiewen of China 8-21, 23-21, 21-14 in quarterfinal 1 of Badminton Women's Doubles on Monday, August 11.
The two Chinese players won the first game 21-8 with ease, but their hasty playing forced them to give up the second game 23-21 when their opponents made adjustments. The inspired Japanese shuttlers played in increasingly better form to snatch the tiebreaker 21-14.
